East Anglian School Leaders Learning Together – Joint SASH / CEON / SPHA Summer Conference 2023 – 06/07/2023

Dear Senior Leaders from SASH, CEON, SPHA & Norfolk

Following the success of last year’s conference, we are delighted to be able to invite you to our SASH/CEON/SPHA East Anglian School Leaders conference in July.  We have a very full line up of inspirational and informative speakers at this lovely venue.  The popular “ask the panel” session has returned, which will be hosted by Jeremy Rowe (CEON Chair). You can ask our experts for their take on the hot topics in education.

Our headline speakers include:-

John Tomsett has extensive educational experience and was a secondary headteacher for 18 years.  He has published nine books and will be speaking to us about the Curriculum Triumvirate.  The curriculum comprises three elements: content-adaptive pedagogy-assessment. In this session John explores all three elements of the curriculum and suggests how senior leaders might begin to interrogate a subject specific curriculum from seven starting points.

Professor Bill Lucas – will be speaking about creativity in schools: what it is, why it matters and what school leaders can do to cultivate it.  Bill will share latest research and promising practices from across the world and offer practical guidance to busy school headteachers.

Sam Freedman will be giving us an overview of the current political situation.  He is a senior fellow at the Institute for Government and writes regularly on politics and policy for Prospect, New Statesman, TES, FT, Guardian and Sunday Times.

Geoff Barton – the General Secretary of ASCL and features regularly in the Press on educational issues, will be giving us his views on the latest issues in education.

In the packed schedule, other speakers include Jonathan Duff, Regional Education Commissioner, John Greenwood – Norfolk & Suffolk Police Cybercrime expert and Roz Sommerville &  the SEND team.

There will be lots of time for networking, share views and to re-establish friendships and connections.

If you are a SASH member the conference is included in your membership, there is a small charge for our other colleagues depending on the option chosen*. This conference is open to all Senior Leaders in East Anglia; we would love you to come for the whole event but if you can’t we hope you or your Deputy/a Senior Leader can join us at some point in the day.

Nigel Burgoyne, Jeremy Rowe & Rebecca Leek
SASH Executive Director, Chair of CEON & SPHA Executive Director
